On Thursday, everyone had the opportunity to place their vote for one of several submitted crest ideas. All of the submissions were excellent and we thank everyone who took the time to create and submit them! Many of the crests we chose from included images that we would have to secure rights to, some of them at expense to the squadron. Others were amazing, but would not be reproducible by embroidery or screening because of the intricacies.
A winning crest was chosen and sent to a graphic designer (a very good friend of ours), to ensure that images were stylized in a way that meets copyright laws and can be reproduced easily. The result embodies the design of the original in a way that is all our own. It also embodies elements of some of the other submissions as well!
I am happy to post this first, draft rendering of what will, pending approval, be our squadron crest!
