Bradford Cadets in the News!
Twenty two cadets joined us on our first full training night on 13 September! Despite most of them being on a parade floor for the first time, they performed their drill with precision! We spent some time learning about the cadet program in general and some of the opportunities that our cadets will have over the coming years. It is exciting to think that these new recruits will be the leaders of tomorrow. Our NCOs performed their roles wonderfully on the parade square and offered some great support to our recruits during class.
As it was the first night, all cadets were sponsored for a free snack at Canteen during break. During parade nights we will continue to offer some snacks and drinks for 50 cents to a dollar for any cadets that would like a bit of food or drink between periods.
A reminder of timings:
Opening parade starts at 6:30. it is important to be on the floor ready for attendance at that time.
Closing parade is at 9PM Parents are invited to join us in the gym to close the evening and to hear any announcements that might be made.

Local Squadrons will be joining us at the legion to celebrate the start of the new Bradford Cadets! Canadian journalist and talk show host Jacquie Perrin will be joining us as the Master of Ceremonies in an event that will see the Mayor, our local Minister of Parliament, our Minister of Provincial Parliament and several other key guests welcome the cadet program to Bradford!
The day will consist of a short parade and wreath laying by the cadets accompanied by cadets and a band from several local squadrons as well as members of the Branch 521 Legion.
UFly Simulators will be on site with an active flight simulator to give attendees the taste of flight! It was great meeting so many recruits and their parents in Bradford on the 6th of September! We look forward to seeing everyone again next Thursday for our first full training nights.
For Thursday, Cadets are to be in the gym at 1830 hours (6:30PM). If possible, they should be wearing black pants, black shoes and white shirt until their uniforms come in. All cadets must have a completed file before parents can leave! Check with the Administration Officer on Thursday to ensure your file is complete.
Parents are invited back for our closing parade at 2100 (9:00PM). Cadets will be dismissed at 9:30 to go home.
Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar and events page. We will be posting a lot of information including our big kick off on the 22nd of September and some other great opportunities including gliding during the fall.
