2018 Remembrance Activites

Remembrance Day is an important event where Canadians reflect on the sacrifices made during times of conflict and Crisis.  We are proud to support our Legion and Community by taking part in a series of events to support recognition of our Veterans and their families.

Poppy Campaign  –  Friday 9 November

Cadets will assist the legion with taking donations for poppies.  Cadets will be placed at various locations around Bradford with poppy boxes.  We are looking at three shifts and ask that every cadet take part in at least one.

  • Friday Evening: 6PM – 9PM
  • Saturday Morning 10AM – 2PM
  • Saturday Afternoon 1PM – 5PM

*Cadets who take part in both Saturday shifts will have lunch provided.

Veterans Dinner – Saturday 10 November

Cadets will participate in hosting the Legion Veterans Dinner.  There will be two shifts for this activity.

  • Set Up 4PM-6PM.  Six cadets needed to prepare for the dinner.
  • Dinner Service 6PM to 10PM.  Eight cadets needed to serve the dinner and clean up.

Remembrance Day Ceremony Sunday 11 November

Cadets will participate in the Act of Remembrance at the Bradford Legion.  Cadets are to form up in front of the legion at 10:30AM.  Some cadets will be tasked with wreath bearing or flag party duties.  The ceremony will be over by noon.

Bell’s of Peace Ceremony

Cadets will join the legion in marking the 100th anniversary of the Armistice with a ceremony.  Cadets are to be at the legion for 4PM.
